   Magic Kingdom and Pleasure Island

Disney World's
Pleasure Island

PLEASURE ISLAND

This six-acre complex houses eight clubs that will satisfy everyone’s nightlife requirements. You can find discos, live music, country line dancing, jazz and lots more. This is probably why the complex is so popular with vacationers, conventioneers and even locals; it’s like one-stop shopping for nightlife. Every night is celebrated like New Year’s Eve, complete with street party and fireworks display.

Pleasure Island is connected to the rest of Downtown Disney by footbridges and paths that are closed after 7pm. At that point, admission for the bars is charged and ID is verified. You get a hand-stamp and those 21 and over who wish to drink are given a bracelet. Those under 18 can enter if accompanied by an adult. Kids are free to go to any of the clubs except Manneguinns which is 21 and over. Admission to Pleasure Island is included in the all-in -one hopper.

Adventurers Club
This club is the result of crossing Casablanca with Indiana Jones. The bar feels like Rick’s Cafe with the addition of exotic pieces adorning the walls. Costumed actors come and share their tales of adventure over a drink. They also encourage sing-alongs and audience participation. It’s fun as a primer for the other activities.

BET SoundStage Club
Brought to you by Black Entertainment Television, the SoundStage Club features BET programming as well as live musical performances. You can listen (and dance) to Hip-hop, soul, R&B and jazz in a great atmosphere. Call ahead to see who is performing.

Comedy Warehouse
As opposed to most comedy clubs that feature straight stand-up routines, the Comedy Warehouse features a gifted group of performers who improv the show based on ideas from the audience. The acts are mostly clean and are suitable for anyone who is in the park at this time. Not a bad option for parents with teens.

8Trax
Donna Summer and the Village People still reign supreme here. 8Trax is a 70’s style disco that features the music from that era. This club is very similar to Polly Ester’s and the other 70’s retro-bars that seem to be popping up everywhere. This is one of the two "real" discos on Pleasure Island. Kids with adults are allowed inside, so if you think they will interfere with your fun, go to Mannequins.

Mannequins Dance Palace
This is Disney’s New York-style disco, it’s the only club in Downtown Disney where kids under 21 are not admitted. Singles and those who are trying to escape the little ones congregate here to dance the night away. There’s a revolving dance floor with lots of dance-floor special effects like lights, smoke and bubbles. It can get pretty wild on weekends.
