Clyde and Seamore Take
Pirate Island" features the park's hilarious sea lions,
otters and walrus in a swashbuckling adventure, featuring
the most elaborate set ever in a sensational tale of lost
loot, pirate plunder and misadventure on the high seas. This
show is one of the "can’t miss" attractions of
Seaworld; both parents and children will find this show
delightful.
The set is very
elaborate, comprised of balconies and waterslides and things
of that nature, and the creatures are undeniably cute and
cuddly. Seamore is animal trainer Eric Lang, and Clyde is a
sea lion "first mate," and the two of them perform
all sorts of zany, madcap hijinks with a strong
environmental message thrown in to boot. The enemy: pesky,
littering human beings.
The aquatic supporting
cast includes a walrus, an otter, some sea-lions, and
others, including a harbor seal. The eclectic cast performs
some truly wild stunts, such as dancing and leaping off of
the aforementioned slides and balconies. In my humble and
somewhat twisted opinion, the walrus steals the show,
waddling on in during key moments and making his tusked
presence felt.
Because the showtimes
are widely spaced throughout the day, there is plenty of
time to take in the many other sights and sounds of Seaworld,
and therefore no real excuse to miss out on this noteworthy
production. You shouldn’t have any real problem getting
seats, so don’t give yourself an ulcer trying to plan for
this event. The show runs about twenty-five minutes in
length, but make sure you’re there for the fifteen-minute
preshow, as some of the highlights take place right off the
bat.
To sum up, don’t
miss this show. Your kids will love it to death, and
you’ll be pleasantly surprised as well.
